Swedish (Relaxation) Massage
Often called Swedish massage, this style of 'western' massage evokes the relaxation response that enables physical, mental and spiritual healing in the body. The effects of relaxation massage have been well researched and cannot be under-estimated in soft tissue healing.
Therapeutic massage
The application of a variety of systematic massage techniques which may include deeper tissue massage in order to treat specific soft tissue conditions.
Therapeutic massage may help:
Decrease stress levels.
Decrease tension in muscles and alleviate Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness (DOMS)
Increase blood circulation to bring oxygen and nutrients to tissues and remove the waste products of cell metabolism such as carbon dioxide.
Reduce adhesions in muscles and connective tissue (fascia).
Reduce scar formation in muscle and skin.
Improve skin health and tone.
Promote holistic balance in the body to help impove self awareness and self esteem.
Reduce inflammation by helping to remove excess fluid

Sports Massage
Therapeutic and relaxation massage applied to active people and athletes. May include pre and post event techniques and a variety of assessment and maintenance programs to obtain optimum athletic performance for all sports.
Fascial Kinetics (A Bowen Therapy)
Tom Bowen of Australia made famous this gentle but profound technique involving a series of to and fro moves across tendons, muscles and fascial planes of the body. This technique can be applied through clothing and normally has long lasting effects which alleviate acute and chronic conditions.
Fascial Kinetics is a version of Bowen Therapy which applies very similar moves to those used by Bowen. The focus of the moves is on the connective tissue or fascia of the body to encourage fascial plasticity and fitness.
Bowen technique is sometimes referred to as the homeopathy of body therapies as the moves are of short duration and act as a ripple effect throughout the connective tissue to bring about a balance or homeostasis in body functions.

Bio-dynamic Craniosacral Therapy
A subtle yet profound healing form which assists the body's natural capacity for self-repair. The therapist makes contact by placing their hands lightly on your body and tuning into what is happening by "listening" with their hands noticing contractions and restrictions. As primary orientation is towards the client's inherent health, deep and lasting transformation can occur. Clients often become deeply relaxed during a session. BCST works particularly well at facilitating a safe resolution of shock and trauma which may be held unconsciously in your body's tissues.
Lymphatic drainage
Manual lymphatic drainage is the gentle manipulation of the lymphatic watersheds of the body in order to overcome inflammation and swelling so that tissue healing can be restored. Pre and post treatment measurement will often show a reduction in inflammation sometimes as much as 2-3cm around the abdomen or knee joint. This technique is particularly beneficial for pre and post international flying as it significantly helps combat the effects of jet lag fatigue often made worse by puffiness in your body's tissues. It's also a good idea to have a lymphatic drainage session if you're detoxing to help improve metabolic function. When combined with Bowen therapy, a lasting effect is maximised.
Myofascial release techniques
The fascia of the body is considered the tissue linking all systems of the body. Gentle superficial manual stretching of shortened fascia and muscles can restore postural imbalances.
Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT)
NMT is a comprehesive system of soft tissue manipulations that balance the nervous system with the structure of the musculoskeletal system. NMT is based on neurological laws that explain how the central nervous system maintains homeostatic balance. Application is through a quasi-static pressure to treat muscle dysfunction and often on trigger points.
Trigger Point Therapy
Myofascial trigger points are locations in the body where palpable tight bands may refer pain and discomfort to a specific other area of the body and they may be the cause of postural and pain syndromes in the body. By releasing these tight areas through holding and client breathing many acute and chronic pain syndromes can be resolved, particularly headaches and stiff necks.
On-site Massage
The application of massage at a location other than a fixed clincal space. Often this may include the use of a specially designed portable masssage chair and typically the treatments are of short duration.
On-site massage is often used by businesses to keep their staff motivated, healthy and stress free with the minimum disruption to the workplace. Mobile massage is used by some practitioners to go to peoples' homes to give massage and usually involves a longer treatment with a portable table.

Polarity Balancing
A gentle placing of the practitioner's hands on your body or sometimes just off the body to feel for "energy blockages" and through holding, allows your body's innate wisdom to rebalance itself and enhance Chi flow. Reiki and Magnetic healing are two other forms of the application of energy to healing.
Reflexology
There are various specific points on the feet, hands, face and ears which reflect your organs and parts of the body. Through stimulating these points with finger pressure, healing energies are directed to the part of body represented by the point. For example stimulating the first joint of your toes helps relieve sinus pressure in the face. Reflexology has its origins in oriental medicine.
Hot Stone Massage
Hot stones are applied to the body as a source of heat to speed up the release of tightness in muscles. Massage strokes are applied with stones effecting a state of deep relaxation. Highly recommended to relieve stress and induce a good night's sleep.
